The FEEDING 10,000 COLLECTION OF GREEN BEANS is ongoing for the month of May. Please bring at least 2 regular sized cans of green beans. Women please count today.

Dianne Artis would like to meet with the Decoration Committee of the Pastor’s Aide today, after the 11 AM service. Decoration Committee members: Shirlon Brown, Peggy McCormick, Flora Preston, Margaret Watson.

Pastor Robert J. Williams, the Gospel Choir, the Male Ushers and the Williams Memorial CME Church Family will render service at First Missionary Baptist Church, 103 Church Street, Thomasville today at 3:00 PM for Pastor/Teacher, Rev. Calvin Smith’s Pastoral Installation Service. They are inviting our church for lunch at 1:30 PM. The buses will leave after church service.

 Men’s Day is now in progress. Theme: “Real Men Building Relationships in the Community and Restoring Families for the Kingdom of God. Reliable, Educated in Scripture, Anointed, and Led by the Spirit.” Scripture: Romans 12:4-5, “For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body and each member belongs to all the others.” The color is a touch of purple. The asking is $200 for men 18 and over, and $20 for young men 17 and under. Pay something towards your goal today.

We sincerely need your help! This is an urgent and serious matter! As of June 15th, the Food Lion Store #716 located at 3136 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, formally Kivett Drive, will be permanently closed for business; creating a food desert and limiting federal funds for education and housing in our community. We are asking that you e-mail or write letters to Food Lion about the importance of keeping the grocery store at this location, and how this personally impacts you, your family and friends (remember: we are our brother’s keeper.) Church Conference for the month of June 2017, will be held on Monday, May 22, 2017, 7:00 PM, at Williams Memorial.

The Family Day Committee will meet on Thursday, May 25, 2017,  6:30 PM, at Williams Memorial.

The Men of Williams will serve breakfast at the Open Door Shelter on Saturday, May 27th. All men are asked to report to the shelter by 6:15 AM.

The Interpretive Dancers will rehearse on May 27th and June 10th at 9:30 AM. See Francine Mallory for more information.

The Senior Ushers will celebrate their 69th Anniversary on Sunday, May 28th during the 8 AM service.

The Senior Ministry (60 years and above) will have Meet & Greet on Sunday, May 28, 2017, after the 8 AM & 11 AM services.

The Sunday School Explosion is coming to an end. The last Sunday in May is when the footprints will be tallied. Children that have attended class and given their teacher footprints will be celebrated during the 11:00 AM service on June 11th. There is one more Sunday remaining in May; Take a Step: “Build a Foundation”.

The Higher Learning Institute is excited to announce the launch of the Teen Boss Academy!  The Teen Boss Academy is a 2-week summer program for middle and high school students that will use Biblical principles to inspire, connect, and empower teens to pursue entrepreneurship. The program will be held here at Williams Memorial from July 17th – July 28th. Pick up a brochure at the welcome desk or visit the website (http://teenbossacademy.weebly.com) to learn more about the program and how to register. There will only be 24 spaces available so you must act fast!

Bible Study at the Boys and Girls Club, located in the Carson Stout Community, will be held every Monday at 5:45 PM—6:30 PM.

Williams Memorial CME Church has teamed with Lifetouch and will offer a New Pictorial Directory for all members. We are asking each family to take a Lifetouch picture to be placed in the directory. Each family will receive a FREE 8×10 portrait. Purchasing of portrait packages is optional. Sign-ups for portrait sittings will begin after both services on May 21st, May 28th, June 4th and June 11th. Online sign-up is available now. The Durham District Conference will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at Prince Chapel CME Church, 4471 Christian Chapel Church Rd., New Hill, NC.

Please submit 3rd Quarter Honor Roll information by June 4th by clicking on the link listed on the church webpage, www.williamsmemorialcme.org. Contact the church office if you would like to receive the link in an email.

The Carolina Region Lay Ministry is sponsoring a Parliamentary Procedures Workshop at 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at the Charles L. Helton Royal Plaza. Registration is $5 per person. We are asking that those persons planning to attend please register no later than June 3rd, so that there will be enough handouts for everyone. The work shop is open to clergy and laity. See Chris Scott in the audio booth, for a registration form.

Graduation Recognition will take place on June 18th during the 11:00 AM service. An information form will be available at the Welcome Desk and on the church website.

Church Bus Transportation. Call the church office by Friday at 2 PM to get a ride to our Sunday School, 9:45 AM and morning services, 8 & 11 AM.

Congratulations to Nora McKiver! She finished 3rd in the 400 meter hurdles and 4×100 meter relay, and 2nd in the 4×400 meter relay in the ACC Outdoor Conference Championship. The Va. Tech women are the 2017 ACC Women Champions! Nora ranked 15th in the nation in the 400 meter hurdles! Nora is the daughter of Abraham & Minister Vickie McKiver; sister of Latasha and Ashley McKiver, and aunt of Mekhi Jacobs.

Congratulations to Bryan Hall! He was inducted in the National Honor Society at High Point Central High School. Bryan is the son of Charlisa Hall Gillespie and Chris Gillespie.
