The Senior Choir is celebrating their 69th Anniversary today, during the 11:00 AM Service. Congratulations!

Church Conference will be held on Monday, October 8, 2018 at 6:30 PM.

The Board of Christian Education’s meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at 6:30 PM.

The Church Anniversary Committee will meet on Tuesday, October 9th at 6:30 PM.

The Board of Evangelism is spear-heading the Feeding the 10,000 project. In the month of October, we are collecting canned Cranberry Sauce. Everyone is asked to please donate for a successful collection! Volunteers are requested to help count and stock items after the 11 AM service.

Children’s Church will be held today during the 11 AM service. The service will be for children ages 4-11 years old.

The Children’s Choir Advisors will meet on Monday, October 15th at 7:00 PM.

It’s time for our 2018 General Claims Campaign! Yes! Let’s help our Christian Methodist Episcopal Church missions by paying your claims today. These proceeds help support our CME Schools and overseas missions. Today kicks off our annual General Claims Drive. Each adult is asked to pay $7 per week through November 18. Each child 18 and under is asked to pay $1 per week. Our theme for this year is “Seeking God’s Total Blessing.” The scripture is:  Deuteronomy 28:8.

The Men’s Bible Study will be held on Saturday morning, October 13th at 9:00 AM. All men are invited to attend.

Pastor Robert J. Williams would like to meet with the Back-to-Basics Committee on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at 6:30 PM – very important meeting. Committee members: Rolanda Baldwin, Delia Bates, Rev. Frederick Douglas, Gwen Dow, Cedric Hale, Reginald Lendon, Francine Mallory, Peggy McCormick, Rev. Gaynell Reid, Bernard Terry, Misty Terry, First Lady Dian Williams.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month for Women and Men. In honor of this, let us all show our support for those who are survivors and honor the memory of those who lost their battles. Please help support this event by wearing PINK on October 21st, during the 8:00 AM and 11:00 AM services. Pink ribbons will be supplied and poster boards will also be available for signing. JOIN US IN UNITY ON THIS SUNDAY!!!!

 The Lay Department will observe Lay Day on Sunday, October 14th.

The Men’s Ministry will have “Tailgate Sunday” on Sunday, October 21st, after the 11 AM service. We will watch the Carolina Panthers vs Philadelphia Eagles game in the fellowship hall. Wear your team shirt or bring your team paraphernalia and cook-out on the lawn. Prepare for great fun and fellowship!

The 5th Annual DunAmis Gospel Awards will be held at the Cornerstone Conference Ministry Center, 7545 US-29 Browns Summit, NC 27214 on Saturday, October 27, 2018. The red carpet starts at 5 PM and the awards portion begins at 6 PM. Ticket general admission cost online is $21.92. Semi-Formal/Formal Attire. Williams Memorial CME Church is nominated 3 times for: Male Pastor of the Year, Church of the Year and Church Choir of the Year. You may vote unlimited times per day in all categories until October 20, 2018. Cast your vote on http://www.dunamisgospelawards.org.

PLACE Training Sessions have been scheduled for the third and final offering this year.  It will be held over two consecutive Saturdays from 8 am to 12 noon. Part 1 will be held on Saturday, October 20th and Part 2 will continue on the following Saturday, October 27th. Sign -up in the vestibule, church office or with a member of the PLACE ministry for this two part series.

Youth and Young Adult Sunday is every 4th Sunday of the month, during the 11 AM service. This opportunity allows the youth and young adults a chance to participate in service, while training them to become future leaders. If you would like for your child to participate and or are a young adults who wishes to volunteer, please sign the sheet in the vestibule.

Pastor Robert J. Williams will be the Revival Evangelist on October 10th—12th, 2018 at Brown Temple CME Church, 32 Phifer Street, Asheville, NC 28801, where the pastor is Rev. Gary McDaniel.

Pastor Robert J. Williams, the Mass Choir, the Adult Ushers, the Williams Memorial Church Family will render service on Thursday, October 25, 2018 at 7:00 PM at Reid Memorial CME Church, 1010 Bennett St., Greensboro, NC. This is a Revival Service.

Congratulations to Phyllis “DeeDee”  Wardlaw! She was inducted into T Wingate Andrews 2018  Athletic Hall of Fame on September 27, 2018.

She attended T, Wingate Andrews from 1976 to 1979 and was a four sport athlete. In volleyball and softball she was co-captain and a 3-year starter in each sport.  In track she was a long and triple jumper as well as throwing the shot put and discus; at one time holding the school record in both.  In 1979, she was basketball co-captain, named all conference and on the all-state team with the team advancing to the state finals.  She was also named High School All-American and her jersey (#24) was retired by the school. She received a four-year basketball scholarship to High Point College and attended for two years before transferring to Elon College where she was named to the Deans List her senior year.

She is the daughter of Dorletha Wardlaw, cousin of: Annie Gray,  Delores Thompson, Wilson and Harlene Lloyd and Minister Arnetta and Chris Scott.
