Four Essential Steps for Spiritual Growth

Read Your Bible Daily

Attend Church Regularly

“Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” -Hebrews 10:25 (New International Version)

Get Involved In A Ministry Group

Do I hear you professing to believe in the one and only God, but then observe you complacently sitting back as if you had done something wonderful? That’s just great. Demons do that, but what good does it do them? Use your heads! Do you suppose for a minute that you can cut faith and works in two and not end up with a corpse on your hands?Wasn’t our ancestor Abraham “made right with God by works” when he placed his son Isaac on the sacrificial altar? Isn’t it obvious that faith and works are yoked partners, that faith expresses itself in works? That the works are “works of faith”? The full meaning of “believe” in the Scripture sentence, “Abraham believed God and was set right with God,” includes his action. It’s that mesh of believing and acting that got Abraham named “God’s friend.” Is it not evident that a person is made right with God not by a barren faith but by faith fruitful in works? -James 2:19-21 (The Message)

Pray Daily

Prayer is not a mysterious practice reserved for “super” christians. Prayer is just communicating with God by listening and talking to him. Believers can pray from the heart, freely, spontaneously, and in their own words. Prayer develops our relationship with God.”Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak. -Matthew 26:41 (New International Version)And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saint. -Ephesians 6:18 (New International Version). In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. 27And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God’s will. -Romans 8:26-27 (New International Version)
